Overview

Nestled in the heart of Redlands, California, à la Minute Ice Cream offers a distinct, handcrafted approach to frozen treats that elevates the local ice cream scene. This charming shop at 19 E Citrus Ave #105 is more than just an ice cream parlor; it is a destination for those who appreciate fresh, thoughtfully curated flavors made with care and quality ingredients.

À la Minute Ice Cream specializes in unique, artisanal varieties that stand out from typical offerings. Highlights like Espresso Chip, Chocolate Lavender, and the intriguing Olive Oil Vanilla Bean showcase a creative palate that balances classic richness with unexpected twists. Their vegan options, such as the Root Beer Float and Salted Caramel Ice Cream Sandwich, provide inclusive choices without compromising on taste. The menu also nods to gelato influences, bringing luscious texture alongside innovative flavor profiles like Strawberry Balsamic and Avocado Ice Cream.

The experience here is intimate and personal. Each scoop is crafted to order, which means flavors are served individually—a practice that ensures purity of taste and prevents blending that might dilute the distinct profiles. This method reflects the brand's dedication to quality and care. While seating is limited, the inviting sidewalk setting encourages guests to linger, enjoy the cool air, and take in the bustling neighborhood atmosphere.

Served by friendly, knowledgeable staff who are generous with samples, visitors can explore a spectrum of tastes before committing to their favorites. The combination of fresh, local ingredients and artisanal methods resonates deeply, attracting families, ice cream connoisseurs, and curious food lovers alike. Customers frequently praise the thoughtful pairings, such as honey toppings with avocado vanilla, which add a nuanced layer of experience without overwhelming the palate.

Whether you're craving the sophisticated warmth of Chocolate Orange or seeking the refreshing brightness of Fresh Mint Chip, à la Minute Ice Cream promises a crafted indulgence that is both familiar and adventurous. It is a perfect stop for anyone traveling through Redlands or locals looking to treat themselves to something more than ordinary ice cream.

Their flavors are amazing. I can choose this place over every other ice creams I’ve ever had! Their avocado and vanilla are perfect! They have specific topping for each ice cream that works perfectly together. We stopped by on our way back to LA from camping. We will definitely stop by next time for other flavors.

You can’t get two different flavors in the same bowl cuz they make them individually I tried the strawberry balsamic, tho it was a little sweeter for me, it’s still pretty good and I like the texture!

Great ice cream haven’t had this level quality ever tastes better then other ice creams I’ve had. I got the avocado vanilla with honey top. It can get sticky (it’s honey). Small amount of seating but able to walk outside most of the year.

Edit: their vegan options seem to come and go. There was a couple month stretch where there were no vegan options. I had the vegan salted caramel—it blew my mind. I’ve never had such creamy, flavorful vegan ice cream before (granted most of what I’ve tried has been store-bought). They have two other vegan ice creams which I plan to try in the future.

Ever since I lived in the area over 10 years ago I’ve loved à la minute’s nitrogen ice cream and am sad that their other locations Orange and Temecula have closed. This is the last remaining location and I stopped by during a road trip. Husband and I got the avocado honey and Brown Butter Chocolate Caramel. Both flavors were delicious. The avocado ice cream actually tastes like fresh avocado (and not frozen avocado) and is soooo smooth. The brown butter chocolate caramel has delightful hard caramel toffee bits and gives a nice texture. This is the smoothest dense ice cream ever! My previous favorite was the orange honey flavor, but the orange flavor and orange pulp bits aren’t as prominent anymore so it’s been demoted.
